Indoor climate in Norwegian schools

Indoor climate in Norwegian schools

Customer:

In the municipality of Oslo, Norway, are the Apaløkka and Grorud schools.

The municipality of Oslo is a customer of Autic System.

For more than 25 years, Autic has supplied products and software for automation and industrial IT through integrators throughout Norway. Some of its core areas include SCADA, HMI, control systems and industrial communication.

The challenge:

The municipality of Oslo wanted to register indoor climate data from the Apaløkka and Grorud schools in its control system. The data they wanted to record included CO2, temperature and humidity in more than 250 rooms.

sensors were used in the project

The solution:

Each school building was equipped with a PiiGAB 900S capable of receiving wireless M-Bus meters. Repeaters were also installed to ensure maximum coverage. Measurements are performed using sensors that combine CO2, temperature and humidity in the same sensor. Since installation requires no programming, only simple configuration via a web interface, these sensors are very convenient to work with.

With wireless sensors, you avoid expensive and time-consuming cable installation when adding measuring equipment to existing properties. They are also well suited for additions to an existing wired measurement infrastructure. PiiGAB's gateways can combine wired and wireless M-Bus.

Johnson Controls integrated data from the PiiGAB 900S gateway into its central building management system via Modbus TCP.

At PiiGAB, we are pleased to have been involved in the project.
